Green mambas can grow to 7 feet long and, related to the cobra, may open a small hood if annoyed. They are very alert and can glide gracefully and quickly through the trees. Their diet includes small mammals, birds, and bats. They are highly venomous (information taken from sign over exhibit at Jacksonville Zoo enclosure)

How nice to see a green mamba...on my last safari we watched a Vervet monkey leap over a green mamba that was resting on a log. We were shocked and looked it up in the reptile guidebook- apparently they are not aggressive like the black mamba, and the monkey knew that!
